Skysports.com understands Chesterfield are set to sign Yeovil's highly-rated defender Nathan Smith.
The left-back has impressed for the Glovers over the past three seasons, making 114 appearances after being snapped up from non-league football.
Smith featured for Enfield, Waltham Forest and Potters Bar Town before making the smooth transition to League One football.
The Glovers were keen to keep the 24-year-old at Huish Park and offered a new deal amid interest from the Spireites, Preston and Leyton Orient.
And it now appears that Chesterfield have won the race for his signature as John Sheridan looks to build his squad following promotion from League Two.
