Former Celtic striker warns fans to not expect same from Bellamy

Former Celtic striker John Hartson believes Craig Bellamy would add to the quality of the Hoops - but warns he is not the same player as before. Welshman Hartson played alongside Bellamy for the Hoops back in 2005 and his compatriot is now being linked with a return. While Hartson believes the Manchester City player would be a good addition to Neil Lennon's side as they look to regain the SPL title, he has warned fans about expectiations for Bellamy, who spent last season on loan at Cardiff. Hartson told the Daily Record: "I would love to see Craig back at Celtic but I would not say he is the same player as six years ago.

Knee problems

"He is 32 now and he has had a lot of problems with his knees but he is a match-winner and would add to the quality Celtic already have. "If supporters think they will be seeing the player who tore up the SPL six years ago then I'd have to warn them I don't think they will be seeing that. "Craig could pick and choose his games at Cardiff and could miss a couple of matches here and there if his knees bothered him. "But the SPL is demanding and there are a lot of games both domestically and in Europe."
