Wigan Athletic will thrash out striker Mauro Boselli's future after he returned from his loan spell with Genoa.
The Latics splashed out £6million to land the Argentina international from Estudiantes last summer.
Boselli struggled to make an immediate impact in English football, having netted just once in 12 appearances in all competitions.
The 26-year-old spent the second half of the campaign in Serie A, although the club's offer they recently tabled was well short of Wigan's valuation.
Martinez acknowledges Boselli needs a break following a tiring campaign and he is not ruling him out of coming back into his first-team picture.
"Mauro is back from Genoa and he needs a rest first of all," Martinez said.
"He is a proven goalscorer, though, and that will never change. They are the hardest players to find.
"We'll sit down with him and find out how he found his time in Italy.
"Then we'll work out what the next step will be for all parties."
