MK Dons have rejected a bid from newly-promoted Peterborough United for star striker Sam Baldock.
Posh are in the market for a forward as they prepare to lose Craig Mackail-Smith, and Baldock is firmly on their radar as they prepare for life in the Championship next season.
But a bid for the man who scored 14 goals this season, believed to be in the region of £1million including add-ons, has not convinced MK Dons to do business.
Peterborough director of football Barry Fry told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire: "I spoke to the MK chairman and we haven't been able to agree a deal.
"Obviously they've got their own ambitions and want to do what we did this year and that's go up next year. Everybody's got their price so they say, but at the minute that isn't a done deal.
"I think it's a good deal because he's full of potential and if his potential's fulfilled with us then MK will get a lot of money, but they want the money up front and he isn't the finished article in my opinion."
