Blackpool have played down reports that they have had a bid accepted for Chelsea's Jack Cork.
It has been suggested that the Seasiders are closing in on the capture of the 21-year-old, who spent last season on loan at Burnley.
Southampton are also reported to have had a bid accepted for Cork, while Leeds, Swansea, Burnley and Nottingham Forest have all been linked as well.
But Blackpool secretary Matt Williams has cooled the speculation involving the Tangerines, insisting rumours of an impending deal are premature.
He told the Blackpool Gazette: "Contrary to speculation, we have not had a bid accepted for the player and we were surprised to read that we had.
"The manager has given the chairman a number of targets and he is speaking to their clubs, their representatives and to the individuals concerned.
"As soon as something is finalised it will be announced."
