Chimbonda, Mahon and Tofas heading for the exit door

Queens Park Rangers have released eight players following the club's promotion to the Premier League. Full-back Pascal Chimbonda has not been offered a new contract after making just three substitute appearances since joining QPR in January. Neil Warnock had confirmed Chimbonda would be leaving in late April and he is joined in heading out of Loftus Road by Gavin Mahon. The experienced midfielder finished the season on loan at Crystal Palace and also failed to secure a deal at Selhurst Park. Greek winger Georgias Tofas has been allowed to move on after featuring just once as a substitute in the Championship. Youngsters Josh Parker, Lee Brown, Joe Oastler, Elliott Cox and Romone Rose have also been shown the door by Warnock. The Rangers boss told the club's official website: "There are some really good lads with good quality among the eight we have released. "This could be just what they need to go on and kick-start their careers. I wish them all the best." Warnock is also expected to tell fans' favourites Lee Cook and Martin Rowlands their futures lie elsewhere after they barely featured during Rangers' successful promotion campaign, but defender Peter Ramage has been verbally offered a new deal.
