Dutch giants keen to extend teenager's loan deal

Feyenoord are hoping to keep Arsenal starlet Ryo Miyaichi on loan for another season, according to club chief Martin van Geel. The 18-year-old forward has been a revelation in Rotterdam since arriving on loan from the Gunners in January, establishing himself as a first-team regular. Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has stated his intention to monitor Miyaichi during the pre-season, which the Japan Under-19 international will spend in North London. Wenger has hinted Miyaichi could have a role to play at Emirates Stadium next season if he impresses over the summer, having already earned plaudits in the Dutch Eredivisie. But Feyenoord technical director Van Geel wants the youngster to ply his trade in Holland for another campaign as he continues his development. "We would love to have him here on loan for a year," Van Geel told Voetbal International. "Arsenal know we are good for him. Now we can only wait for their answer."
