Stoke defender Ryan Shawcross is determined to win his place back in the England set-up.
Shawcross has failed to feature for England since winning his first call-up to the squad for the friendly with Egypt last year.
The former Manchester United man is refusing to give up on his international ambitions and will fight to win a recall next season.
"I'm desperate to get back in there. It's been a year since I was last involved," Shawcross told the Daily Mirror. "I will do my talking on the pitch and hopefully carry that on next season.
"It will be tough, but that's where I want to be."
Shawcross admits the season just finished has been the best campaign of his career to date after leading Stoke to their first ever FA Cup final
"It has been my favourite season at the club," added Shawcross.
"To captain the team has been an honour. To be captain of the team in our most successful year has been fantastic. There have been a lot of highs this year."
