Martin Allen is confident Ishmel Demontagnac can make an impact next season after making the winger his first signing as Notts County manager.
Skysports.com revealed earlier on Friday that Demontagnac was set to join the Magpies following his release by Blackpool earlier in the week.
The midfielder has signed an initial one-year deal, with the option of a further 12 months, and Allen has been impressed by his attitude.
"We have signed Ishmel Demontagnac on a free transfer," Allen told the club's official website.
"Ishmel definitely has some ability and I've given him an incentivised contract hoping he is going to step up to the mark.
"He has speed and he has an attitude, but I have met him a couple of times and I think and I hope we can work well together.
"I met him in London a few days ago and he turned up early, he was well presented, he got the directions himself to where I was meeting him, I had a real good long chat to find out more about him and I like him.
"He has only got a one-year contract and if he does good we have got the option to keep him for one more year. I'm sure this young man can help us win some football matches."
