Hearts' new signing Jamie Hamill hopes he can persuade ex-Kilmarnock team-mate Mehdi Taouil to join him at Tynecastle.

Hamill sealed his Tynecastle switch on Wednesday after penning a three-year deal with the Edinburgh club.

The Jambos have also held talks with Taouil, although the midfielder is weighing up his options before signing.

Hamill has urged him to complete a move as he feels the Moroccan would add some more attacking flair to the side.

Good addition

"He would definitely be a good addition," Hamill said of Taouil.

"He plays in the hole and I've played with him the last four years. He has been exceptional in training, some of the things he does, it's like 'wow'.

"He and Alexei Eremenko were just different class in training, you probably couldn't separate the two of them with their ability to find a pass.

"Him coming here would be a big thing to get. I'll get on the phone tonight and tell him to come here!"
