Schalke have again rejected reports that they have agreed to sell Manuel Neuer to Bayern Munich.

Talks have taken place amid reports of agreement on £22m fee

Schalke have again rejected reports that they have agreed to sell Manuel Neuer to Bayern Munich, despite ongoing discussions. It has been reported that a £22million transfer has been settled for the goalkeeper, who was previously linked with Manchester United. Neuer wants to stay in Germany and Bayern are leading the chase for the 25-year-old ahead of next summer's conclusion of his current contract. Schalke, though, remain adamant that they have not agreed to allow the Germany international to move to their Bundesliga rivals, despite discussing a fee. Club executive Peter Peters told Sportinformationsdienst: "We had good talks with Bayern Munich and we also reached an idea about the economic part of an agreement. "But we have not yet decided to accept the offer. "Manuel Neuer is under contract at Schalke until June 2012, he is our first-team goalkeeper and we really feel he is an important player of our first team."
