Aberdeen manager Craig Brown has warned Rangers they have no chance of landing Richard Foster permanently on the cheap.
The 25-year-old has spent the season on loan with Gers and is believed to have done enough for Ally McCoist to want to keep him at Ibrox.
However, Foster remains under contract at Pittodrie and Brown has no plans to let him leave the club for the champions for a knock-down price.
Brown is planning for next season with Foster in his squad and insists Rangers will need to cough up a 'substantial' fee in order to land his signature.
"Rangers have not made any approach for Foster so far. If they do it will be made clear that we will be looking for a substantial fee," said Brown.
"Foster will be one of the first names on my team sheet. If he left I'd have a huge gap to fill and the money to pay for that has to come from somewhere."
