Blackburn Rovers manager Steve Kean has reiterated his determination to complete the permanent signing of on-loan Schalke midfielder Jermaine Jones.
The 29-year-old made the temporary switch from the German club in January after a fall-out with then Schalke coach Felix Magath.
He has made a favourable impression in his 15 appearances for Rovers and was part of the side which won 3-2 at Wolves to secure Premier League status for another season.
Kean is pleased with his side's conclusion to the campaign, they are unbeaten in four matches, but knows he has to bring in new blood.
"It's massive to stay up because the financial implications of dropping down a division are horrific," he said.
"I had a positive meeting with the (Blackburn) owners.
"They've got significant investment, they want to take the club forward, we've got a good solid group of players.
"But we need to strengthen in certain areas, not to replace anyone, but to help.
"We've had a lack of goals so we'd like to address that at the top end of the pitch.
"If we can keep guys like Jermaine Jones, who we've got on loan, it will be good for the squad."
