Skysports.com understands a number of Scottish Premier League clubs are monitoring the situation of 18-year old winger Jon Taylor at Shrewsbury Town.
Taylor has made a massive impact at the Greenhous Meadow since getting his chance in January, starting every game since making his debut and helping Shrewsbury in their promotion chase with an eye-catching six-goal haul.
It is thought a number of the leading clubs in Scotland have been alerted to a Fifa ruling that could see Taylor move north of the border without a fee.
It is the same rule that saw Chris Humphrey move to Motherwell in 2009, again from League Two Shrewsbury Town.
Taylor is already on the radar of clubs in the Championship but with a no-fee move a possibility, SPL teams may look to steal a march on their English counterparts.
