AC Milan chief Adriano Galliani has played down speculation linking the club with Tottenham midfielder Rafael van der Vaart.
The Dutchman is thought to be on the radar of the Serie A champions having impressed in his debut campaign for Spurs this season.
But former Real Madrid man Van der Vaart revealed earlier this week he is keen to stay at White Hart Lane, and Galliani has dismissed reports Milan are trying to tempt him away.
He told Football Italia: "Van der Vaart? I think not."
Galliani has revealed a left-sided midfielder is likely to be Milan's sole transfer target this summer after key players such as Mark van Bommel and Alessandro Nesta recently extended their contracts.
He said: "If none of our top players leave, which I don't think they will, then Milan will make just one signing - a left-sided midfielder.
"We are sorted in defence with Philippe Mexes and Taye Taiwo. And fine in attack if nobody departs."
Milan have been linked with a host of top players, including Palermo's Javier Pastore and Santos star Ganso, but Galliani admits some targets are out of their price range.
He added: "They are players who are a little expensive and nobody will offer us a discount."
