Bristol City manager Keith Millen insists the club have yet to receive any enquiries for Nicky Maynard.
The 24-year-old has proven himself to be a regular source of goals in the Championship over recent seasons, netting 38 times in 89 appearances.
That kind of form has not gone unnoticed elsewhere, with reports suggesting that Everton are among those keeping a close eye on the Robins striker.
Millen, though, is desperate to keep Maynard at Ashton Gate and claims he is yet to be contacted by any interested parties.
He told the club's official website: "I can, quite honestly, say there has been no interest shown in Nicky. I have not received a single phone call and there have been no offers made to the club.
"There is always going to be speculation where players like Nicky are concerned and I don't mind that. It means my players are doing well.
"But, in this case, it is nothing more than speculation. I read in the papers that this club and this club are supposed to be interested, yet they never seem to pick up the phone and speak to us.
"I don't know if it comes from agents or from people talking out of place and spreading rumours. Either way, I recognise it as part and parcel of the game these days and it is something managers have to put up with, even though it is not particularly helpful.
"There have been no offers for any of our senior players so far, and I hope it stays that way."
