Mark van Bommel is hoping he will be given the opportunity to prolong his association with AC Milan.
The Dutch midfielder joined the Italian giants in January on a six-month deal, after allowing his contract at Bayern Munich to run down.
He has been a near ever-present for Milan following his arrival, helping the Rossoneri to land the Serie A title.
Van Bommel is now keen for his stay to be extended past the end of the season and admits he would be open to discussing a long-term agreement.
"The Italian league is a great league and it's very entertaining," he said.
"I feel great at Milan but it's not up to me, it's up to the club. If they ask me to stay, I won't know how to say no."
The 34-year-old Holland international has previously turned out for Fortuna Sittard, PSV Eindhoven, Barcelona and Bayern over the course of a distinguished career.
