Monaco fear first-choice goalkeeper Stephane Ruffier could miss the remainder of the season.
The 24-year-old suffered a groin injury during a 1-1 draw at St Etienne on 1st May and has been unable to shake off the knock.
He has been advised that the problem will require a period of rest in order for a full recovery to be made.
It has been suggested that he may require as much as three weeks on the sidelines before he is ready to return.
Should he be out for that long, he will miss Monaco's remaining fixtures of the season.
His absence would represent a major blow to the club's plans, as they battle to preserve their Ligue 1 status.
Monaco sit one point above the drop zone with four games of the season remaining.
There is a possibility that Ruffier may have played his last game for the club, with reports continuing to suggest that a number of clubs are monitoring his situation ahead of the summer transfer window.
