Leicester boss Sven-Goran Eriksson has refused to confirm any potential transfer targets, despite a strong link with Coventry striker Marlon King.

The Foxes will spend next season in the Championship after failing to reach the play-offs this term, with a whole host of ins and outs likely to occur at the Walkers Stadium.

Six of Eriksson's first team are currently on loan from other clubs, and with doubts over whether or not they will still be there come the start of the next campaign, the Swede is looking to recruit.

King is out of contract with the Sky Blues, alongside highly-rated goalkeeper Keiren Westwood, another reported target for Eriksson.

Eriksson would not be drawn on whether he was interested in signing the former Jamaica international or not, but discussions with the board would occur over potential new recruits.

"There are many players and he (King) is one who has been mentioned as he is a goalscorer, but I can't talk of names," said Eriksson in the Leicester Mercury.

Speculation

"There will be speculation every day because that is the power of football.

"It will be busy from next week, which is good.

"Talks with the owners have been going on for a while and I speak to Top (Raksriaksorn, Leicester vice-chairman) every day. We know what we want to do and we have targets, but we cannot contact players until the league is finished.

"The number depends on the loan players and who we can keep and that will be the key."

Current loanees Yakubu, Diomansy Kamara, Jeffrey Bruma, Patrick van Aanholt, Ben Mee and Kyle Naughton are all wanted by Eriksson to stay on at the club.

However the former England boss admits he does not know if he will be able to keep them, and confirmed that Naughton is returning to parent club Tottenham over the summer.

"Tottenham are telling Kyle Naughton to go back for the pre-season with them and he does not have any choice," Eriksson added.

"I wish things were clearer, but they are not."
