Skysports.com understands that in-demand York City defender James Meredith is staying at Bootham Crescent next season.
The 23-year-old Australian had been out of contract, but has agreed a new and improved one-year contract with the Blue Square Premier club.
Meredith had been interesting a number of SPL and Football League clubs, but he has opted to remain with the Minstermen.
The ex-Derby man could have moved north of the border without a transfer fee, although a Football League switch would have resulted in York receiving compensation.
Having previously turned down two offers to stay with York, terms have now been agreed that will see Meredith playing for City in the 2011/12 campaign.
