Teenager could feature for injury-hit Black Cats in closing games

Steve Bruce has indicated Sunderland youngster Craig Lynch will be given more opportunities to impress over the final weeks of the season. The 19-year-old striker made his first-team debut for the Black Cats as a substitute in last Saturday's 3-0 Premier League defeat to Fulham. Lynch has watched former youth-team player Jack Colback establish himself in the first-team over recent weeks as Sunderland attempt to deal with an injury crisis. And manager Bruce feels the teenager could be the latest to profit from the Wearsiders' predicament.

Chance

The Black Cats boss told the club's official website: "Lynchy has done particularly well in the reserves. "It wasn't a particularly nice time for him to come on but the boy has a bright future. Saturday will have done him the world of good. "I'm sure he'll have a chance of figuring in the last few games of the season. "The injury situation has given the young lads a chance and a couple of them have grasped it."
