Defender hoping hamstring problem isn't serious

Liverpool defender Fabio Aurelio is hopeful of making his comeback from injury before the end of the season. The full-back is currently recovering from a hamstring injury he picked up in the draw at Arsenal earlier this month. It was a recurrence of the hamstring problem he sustained in the 3-1 win over Manchester United in March. Aurelio is hoping the injury is not too serious and that he could return for the final few weeks of the campaign.

Optimistic

"I'm optimistic I will be able to play again before the end of the season," said Aurelio. "It's the same hamstring injury I had against Manchester United in March but in a slightly different place. "It is very frustrating, but the way I look at it is God is good all the time and I still have faith that things will turn around. "That is why I keep fighting to get fit." Youngster Jack Robinson has filled in at left-back in the absence of Aurelio and the 31-year-old has been impressed by his replacement and that of 18-year-old right-back John Flanagan. "Jack has shown his ability, quality and personality. It was the same with John Flanagan," added Aurelio. "They are very young but they don't seem to feel the pressure at all."
