Michel Bastos' agent has denied rumours the Lyon star will snub Juventus if they miss out on the Champions League.
The Italian giants are leading the race to sign the 27-year-old Brazil international as they aim to bolster their squad after a disappointing Serie A campaign.
Juve are currently seventh in the table and, with five games left, the Bianconeri are eight points behind Lazio, who occupy Serie A's last Champions League qualifying place.
Reports in the past week have suggested Bastos is looking at alternative options, with Italian leaders AC Milan and last season's treble winners Inter Milan both mentioned.
But his agent, Emmanuel de Kerchove, has scotched such claims, insisting he is still on course to join Juve.
De Kerchove added that Lyon have agreed to begin negotiations over a summer transfer for the left-sided player, who cost £14million as he signed on a four-year contract from Lille in 2009.
"Juventus do not need to be worried about these rumours," he told Tuttosport.
Serie A appeal
"The prospect of playing in the Italian league and meeting teams such as Inter and AC Milan twice a year is more important for Michel than playing in the Champions League.
"It's just a matter of waiting for us now. The directors of both clubs have yet to talk.
"I don't expect there to be any problems though.
"Lyon have told us that they're willing to open talks and to cash in on Michel."
