Ruud van Nistelrooy believes he may have already played his final game for Hamburg after sustaining a calf injury that could keep him out for the remainder of the season.
Van Nistelrooy: Calf problem
The Dutch striker picked up the problem in Saturday's goalless draw at home to Hannover and, despite completing the 90 minutes, he fears he will be sidelined for some time.
If Van Nistelrooy does not recover in time to play any part in the run-in, it means the match with Hannover will mark his final appearance in a Hamburg shirt.
The 34-year-old, who arrived at the Imtech Arena from Real Madrid in January 2010, is out of contract in the summer and has previously declared his intention to leave.
"I have injured my left calf," Van Nistelrooy told spox.com. "The doctors say it is a torn muscle.
"It happened in the final minutes of the match, and after the match the pains got worse.
"I may be out for the season, if so I have already played my final match for Hamburg."
