Stoke City's on-loan striker John Carew is battling to prove his fitness in time for the FA Cup semi-final with Bolton.

The giant Norwegian striker, who moved to the Britannia Stadium from Aston Villa in the January transfer window, has been struggling with a back injury.

Carew has not featured for the Potters since their 3-0 defeat at West Ham in the Premier League at the start of March.

But he is now keen to feature against Tottenham at White Hart Lane on Saturday to show manager Tony Pulis he is ready to tackle the Trotters on 17th April.
