Inter Milan sports director Marco Branca has admitted that the club are looking closely at Nuri Sahin.
The 22-year-old German-born Turkey international has been turning heads in the Bundesliga this season at Borussia Dortmund.
With his team currently sitting at the summit of the German league, the midfielder is naturally a player in demand, not least from the Milan giants.
Yet despite signalling the club's intentions, Branca insisted that Inter's first priority is to finish strongly a season that could yet see a Serie A and UEFA Champions League double.
"He's an interesting player we are following at this time, who did really good things this season, as did his whole team," he told the Inter Channel.
"He's one of the possibilities that we will evaluate at the end of the season with the coach and the president, but not now.
"In this moment we are all concentrated on this sensational and emotional seaon end."
Branca also took time to comment on another rumoured Inter target, Udinese forward Alexis Sanchez.
The 22-year-old is currently in the best form of his career for the Serie A side, with Branca quick to take the credit with a tongue-in-cheek remark.
"I told [owners] the Pozzo family that they must buy me lunch, because until October and November of this season he was a really great player with fewer goals," he added.
"Since I met the Pozzo family he did better. I think I have given him luck.
"Talking seriously, should we make a move it could be rather difficult, but he is a player we like."
