Borussia Dortmund have put a contract offer to Patrick Owomoyela despite his recent injury problems.
The Germany international has made only fleeting appearances for the Bundesliga leaders this season, with a succession of niggling knocks keeping him sidelined.
He had been left sweating on his future as a result, with his current deal set to expire in the summer, but is now mulling over fresh terms.
Dortmund general manager Michael Zorc admits the club have yet to hear back from the defender, but remain optimistic regarding their chances of retaining his services.
"Patrick Owomoyela has received an offer of a new contract with us," he said.
"At this point I have received no answer from him, but we would be happy to continue working with Owo."
Zorc has indicated that Owomoyela has been offered a one-year deal, with the option for a further 12 months.
