Preston have finalised the signing of Bongani Khumalo on loan from Tottenham until the end of the season.
Skysports.com revealed earlier on Thursday that a deal had been agreed and the news has now been confirmed by North End.
Preston manager Phil Brown swooped to land the South Africa international shortly before the loan window closed at 5pm.
The 24-year-old centre-back is currently away with his country ahead of an African Nations Cup qualifier with Egypt at the weekend.
He has not yet made his debut for Spurs after moving to White Hart Lane from Supersport United for £1.5million in January.
But he impressed Harry Redknapp during a trial spell and his time at Deepdale will provide valuable experience of the English game.
He will be eligible to play for Preston against Swansea on Saturday, 2nd April.
