Goalkeeper Dean Gerken has signed a new two-year deal with Bristol City to commit his immediate future to the Ashton Gate side.
The 25-year-old, whose current contract was due to expire in the summer, has agreed to remain with the Robins until the summer of 2013.
Having signed for an undisclosed fee from Colchester in 2009, Gerken has clocked up 44 appearances for the club.
However, due to last summer's prize capture of David James, only one of those has come this season - in a Carling Cup first-round defeat to Southend.
City manager Keith Millen told the club's official website: "I'm delighted Dean has agreed this new deal and he thoroughly deserves it.
"Dean is a quality goalkeeper and just the kind of player I want on our books. He's been very professional in his approach this season and continues to work terrifically hard in training.
"Dean wants to play like every other player but he doesn't moan or cause any trouble, he just gets his head down and gives 100%."
Meanwhile, Millen has signalled his desire to hold talks with Tottenham in the summer in regard to keeping hold of season-long loanee Steven Caulker.
