The 25-year-old netted Pompey's winner before the break but limped off in the 74th minute with a leg problem.

However Nugent, the club's top scorer so far this season with 12 goals, has allayed fears he is poised for a lengthy spell on the sidelines.

"The knee's fine. It was a bit of a dead leg above the knee," Nugent told The News.

"It happened early doors in the second half and the pain wasn't going away.

"Every time I planted my left foot the pain was still there and not going so I wasn't able to carry on.

"But it's okay and I will be fine after a break."
