Everton defender Phil Jagielka believes there are exciting times ahead after committing his long-term future to Goodison Park.
The England international was already on a long-term Toffees contract, but has now extended that stay through to the 2014/15 season.
Jagielka is now focusing on his football for David Moyes' side and he believes there is a bright future on the horizon for the Merseysiders.
"We had talks a while ago and I knew it would only be a case of getting it signed and sealed," he said.
"I am absolutely delighted to commit my future to Everton.
"I had a little while left on my last contract but it is obviously nice to get a new one.
"I can concentrate on the football and hopefully there are exciting times ahead for me and the club."
