Cardiff striker cleared over Reading incidents

The Football Association of Wales have cleared Craig Bellamy after he was charged with improper conduct following Cardiff's game with Reading. Bellamy had picked up the charge following an incident in or around the tunnel area following the Bluebirds' game with the Royals. However, the FAW's Disciplinary Panel determined that the charge, given the evidence on offer, was not proven. Having avoided any ban, Bellamy is now free to face Millwall on Saturday.

Charges

The panel also considered two charges against Cardiff themselves, relating to the same game. The club were charged with the failure of their players to conduct themselves in an orderly fashion during and following the conclusion of the match. Prior to the hearing Cardiff accepted a charge relating to incidents in the tunnel for which they were fined £5,000. The panel also determined that the charge relating to the conduct of the players whilst on the pitch was not proven.
