Juventus-linked striker will respect his contract at Lazio
Mauro Zarate's agent says the Argentine will respect his contract with Lazio, despite being played out of position last time.
The striker, who has three years left on his contract, was linked with Juventus in the January transfer window but stayed on at the Stadio Olimpico after club president Claudio Lotito insisted he was not for sale.
The former Birmingham player's agent and brother Sergio Zarate told Radio ManĂ ManĂ they were not looking for the 23-year-old to leave Rome.
"The future? We still have a three-year contract with Lazio and we want to respect it, unless a club come in ready to make a deal with Lotito. This is another story," he said.
But the agent was upset that his brother was played out of position on the left side in the 2-0 win over Palermo last weekend.
He said: "I'm not happy with the position in which Mauro played against Palermo.
"Mauro is not a wing-back! Last Sunday he played at five metres from defender (Stefan) Radu, was almost always near the door of (Lazio's goalkeeper, Fernando) Muslera.
"In this way we'll never see the true Zarate. Thus they destroy him as a football player."
