Wolves midfielder David Edwards has been ruled out for at least the next month of the club's survival battle with a back injury.
Edwards was substituted in the second half during the recent 4-0 win over Blackpool and missed Sunday's 3-3 draw at home to Tottenham Hotspur.
The Wales international has been ordered to rest for the next few weeks after suffering a stress reaction in his lumbar spine.
"Dave complained of lower back stiffness after the Blackpool result and as a result was scanned which showed up the stress reaction in his lumbar spine," said head of Wolves' medical department Steve Kemp to the club's official website.
"With these findings it is not worth risking him carrying on playing with the injury as it could develop into something more serious.
"It is actually fortunate that we have found the problem quite early, and we now intend to manage the injury by treating Dave over the next month after which we will re-assess."
Edwards has made 15 appearances in the Premier League for Wolves this season and has been at Molineux since 2008.
