Oldham are facing a battle to hang onto prize assets Dale Stephens and Chris Taylor, skysports.com understands.
The Latics are just six points off the play-off spots in League One and Paul Dickov is still hoping he can guide his side into the promotion picture despite their financial worries.
But he is having to try and fend off interest in his midfield duo, with a number of clubs chasing the pair and looking to take advantage of the fact they might be tempted to cash in.
While permanent deals cannot be done, the emergency loan window can be used to get transfers done, with deals then going through in the summer.
Championship outfit Scunthorpe have been leading the chase for Taylor since January, and they are still pushing to try and get him.
Skysports.com also understands that Charlton have made an enquiry for Stephens, while a number of Championship side are also thought to be readying moves, with Leeds amongst those also keen.
Stephens has also attracted attention from Premier League sides Everton, Bolton and Wigan.
