Inter striker racing to be fit for Bayern return leg

Diego Milito has admitted he might not be fit for Inter Milan's trip to Bayern Munich later in the month. The Argentina striker missed the first leg of the UEFA Champions League tie with a hamstring strain and he could now be forced to sit out the return leg in Germany. Inter will be desperate to have Milito available as they look to overturn a 1-0 deficit and stay on track for a second successive European crown. He still has time to recover, with the game not until 15th March, but Milito is wary of rushing back too quickly.

Too soon

"It's really too soon to know if I'll play in Munich," the 31-year-old told the Italian press. "It's true that I am improving but I don't want to hurry. Last month I made the mistake of coming back too soon." Inter have two vital Serie A matches before the Bayern clash and Milito admits it is a frustrating time to be on the sidelines as the business end of the season approaches. "The decisive games are coming and I would like to help my team-mates, but it's important also to come back at the right moment," he said.
