Matthew Upson thinks West Ham starlet James Tomkins can follow him into the England squad.
Tomkins has been playing alongside Upson for much of this season, but despite their struggles - the England international is convinced the 21-year-old is showing huge potential.
Upson believes Tomkins has what it takes to make it on the international stage.
"He has come on leaps and bounds this season," Upson said.
"I played a lot with him last season and he has the raw material to become a top player.
"If he keeps improving the way he is and mentally develops I think he'll have a great chance of being an international."
