Ismael Bouzid's agent is keen to hold talks with Hearts to see if the club want to retain the Algeria international defender.
The 27-year-old France-born stopper has been a virtual ever-present for the club this season with 24 SPL appearances.
However, he is out of contract at the end of the campaign and so far there is no agreement for him to extend his stay.
Bouzid's agent Thomas Boehm held talks with the club in January and is now keen on fresh talks to establish their position.
"We have to talk to Hearts again to see what is going on," he told the Scotsman. "I will call and then go for a meeting with them personally.
"It's too early to say if Ismael will stay or leave. First we have to talk to Hearts and see what their decision is."
Boehm has also dismissed reports in Algeria linking his client with a switch to England, adding: "It is not Ismael's fault but they need something to write."
