Udinese midfielder attracting widespread interest

Kojo Asamoah's agent has claimed that Manchester City are among the clubs interested in signing the Udinese midfielder. The Ghana international has impressed in Serie A this season and, at the age of 22, is regarded as a fine prospect for the future. Asamoah's representative, Claudio Vagheggi, says a number of top clubs across Europe are monitoring his client's progress. Fiorentina are reportedly keen as well as City, although Vagheggi admits it is too early to be discussing a possible transfer. "I cannot deny that there are several clubs interested," Vagheggi told Firenzeviola.it. "Manchester City? It's true but they are not the only ones interested in Asamoah.

Likely to stay

"Fiorentina were among the first to show an interest in the player. "But we have decided not to speak about Udinese's transfer market right now because it is premature. "Udinese's strategy is to focus on the season right now. "If the team continues to do so well and perhaps reach an important goal by the end of this season, then Asamoah is likely to remain." Udinese, who hammered Palermo 7-0 away from home last weekend, are currently fifth in the Serie A standings and well placed to seal European qualification. Asamoah has been a key part of their success and, under contract until June 2014, he is valued at around €30million (£25.4m).
