Kiwi defender to pay tribute following New Zealand horror

Blackburn captain Ryan Nelsen is set to wear a black armband against Aston Villa on Saturday following the New Zealand earthquake. The 33-year-old defender hails from Christchurch, and admits feeling 'helpless' watching Tuesday's disaster unfold in his home town. Rovers take on Villa in the Premier League at the weekend but Nelsen admits that he has had other things on his mind, with his family still living in the city. "I just feel so helpless. My family is OK. Everyone got through unscathed but my sister went into labour half an hour after the earthquake," he said. "She was rushed into hospital. It was a struggle in the end but, thank God, she had a little baby boy."
