Real Madrid midfielder Sami Khedira is set for two to three weeks on the sidelines with a thigh problem.
The 23-year-old Germany international suffered the muscle injury during Tuesday's 1-1 draw at Lyon in the UEFA Champions League last 16.
Los Merengues have revealed that a scan has shown the extent of the damage and he will now have to work towards a first-team return.
It means Khedira, who joined Real from Bundesliga club Stuttgart at the end of last season, could miss the return leg against Lyon on 16th March.
Before that important European tie, Jose Mourinho's men have four La Liga matches against Deportivo Coruna, Malaga, Racing Santander and Hercules.
