Bristol City have been a dealt a blow with the news that Jamie McAllister has suffered a fractured rib.
The defender sustained the knock during a 2-1 defeat to Leicester last Friday.
He was forced from the field after 64 minutes at the Walkers Stadium following a heavy challenge.
Scans have revealed that McAllister damaged a rib during the clash, while he has also picked up a calf problem.
"It's disappointing for the lad and the team," City boss Keith Millen told the club's official website.
"We were hoping it wasn't too serious but now the scans have revealed a fracture.
"It's been the story of our season, with key players being ruled out for lengthy spells.
"It now gives somebody else a chance to come and stake a claim for that position, but we also have to look at strengthening that area of the squad with immediate concern.
McAllister added: "It is one of the most painful injuries I have ever experienced."
