Reading manager Brian McDermott is hoping to secure on-loan midfielder Mikele Leigertwood on a permanent basis.
Leigertwood has scored twice in 12 appearances for the Royals since joining from Queens Park Rangers in November and is due to stay at the Madejski Stadium until the end of the season.
The 28-year-old has no long-term future back at QPR and Leigertwood was also linked with a January move to Ipswich Town.
However, McDermott is keen to convince Leigertwood to remain with Reading for the long term after being impressed by his impact so far.
"I'd like to sign Leigertwood on a permanent, that is absolutely my view on it," said McDermott.
"When he plays he always manages to come out with the ball, even if the team aren't playing well you know what you're going to get from him."
