Valencia striker Aritz Aduriz has been ruled out for four weeks and will miss the UEFA Champions League second leg against Schalke.

Aduriz picked up an ankle injury during Saturday's 0-0 draw with Sporting Gijon in La Liga after landing awkwardly.

He was stretchered from the pitch late in the second half and Valencia expect the forward to be sidelined for a month.

It means that Aduriz will be unavailable for Valencia's trip to Germany to take on Schalke on 9th March in the second leg of the last 16 tie.

Valencia drew 1-1 at home with Schalke in the first meeting in midweek and will have to find a replacement for Aduriz, who scored in both games against Bursaspor in the group phase.
