Striker out for four weeks due to ankle injury

Valencia striker Aritz Aduriz has been ruled out for four weeks and will miss the UEFA Champions League second leg against Schalke. Aduriz picked up an ankle injury during Saturday's 0-0 draw with Sporting Gijon in La Liga after landing awkwardly. He was stretchered from the pitch late in the second half and Valencia expect the forward to be sidelined for a month. It means that Aduriz will be unavailable for Valencia's trip to Germany to take on Schalke on 9th March in the second leg of the last 16 tie. Valencia drew 1-1 at home with Schalke in the first meeting in midweek and will have to find a replacement for Aduriz, who scored in both games against Bursaspor in the group phase.
