Star man ready to fight for Premier League survival

Wigan star Charles N'Zogbia insists he is fully committed to helping the club survive in the Premier League after ignoring the chance to leave in January. Representatives of the French winger are said to have held talks with Birmingham in the transfer window, while former club Newcastle were understood to have made late bids. N'Zogbia has said in the past that Wigan are a 'stepping stone' in his career, but the 24-year-old is adamant that he is focused on helping in the fight against relegation. Having briefly escaped the bottom three after Saturday's exciting win over Blackburn, Roberto Martinez's side were dragged back in on Sunday. But their key asset is prepared to fight the drop, despite suggestions it could damage his international career following his first cap against Norway last summer. "To me it is over," he told L'Equipe of speculation surrounding his future. "I don't want to hear anymore about the January transfer market. I told people who called me that I would not move. "I just want to do everything to help Wigan survive and find again Les Bleus as soon as possible."
