Striker could still have Forrest future despite second loan

Nottingham Forest boss Billy Davies says Joe Garner could still have a future at the club despite being sent out on loan. The striker departed Forest for the second time this season on transfer deadline day, joining Championship rivals Scunthorpe. Garner has failed to produce the goods at the City Ground this term, but Davies feels that with a run of games the ex-Carlisle marksman could rediscover his scoring touch. "It is difficult to say what the future holds, football can change very quickly. But, at this moment in time, he needs to be playing games," said Davies. "He is down the pecking order behind the likes of Robert Earnshaw, David McGoldrick, Nathan Tyson and others so we wanted to get games under his belt. "We will get to the end of the season and see what happens but it is important for him to be playing football."
