Colombian shot-stopper joins Leeds on loan

Leeds United have bolstered their goalkeeping options after signing Manchester City's David Gonzalez on loan. As revealed by skysports.com earlier on deadline day, Leeds had lined up a deal for the Colombian. The 28-year-old Colombian will spend the remainder of the Championship season with the promotion hopefuls. Manager Simon Grayson was looking to boost his numbers after the remainder of youngster Alan Martin's contract was cancelled. Gonzalez linked up with City in December 2009, but has found chances at Eastlands hard to come by during his time in Manchester. The former Huracan keeper, who has one cap for his country, was unavailable when Shay Given was on the sidelines at the end of last season. Gonzalez could go straight into Leeds' squad to face Hull City at the KC Stadium on Tuesday, although Kasper Schmeichel is the club's number one.
