The 23-year-old France international has been interesting a host of clubs following an impressive season with Les Verts.

Premier League champions Chelsea have been linked with a move, but it seems that he is not interested in joining the Stamford Bridge outfit.

PSG have moved for Payet following the sale of Stephane Sessegnon to Sunderland and, following the breakdown of contract talks, he has now set his heart on a Parc des Princes switch.

St Etienne delayed contract talks until this month, but after cancelling meetings with his agents twice, Payet, who is tied to the club until 2013, is no longer interested in penning fresh terms.

Disappointed

"My initial decision wasn't to leave, but to extend my St Etienne stay," he told L'Equipe. "There's an exciting project here.

"In October club officials postponed the talks until January. When my representatives came back to talk, the chairman cancelled the meeting twice. There have been no talks.

"I'm disappointed with the officials' behaviour towards me, so now I've made my choice. I want to join PSG to achieve my objective of playing at Euro 2012.

"The contact with PSG has been very recent. When Sessegnon left there were contacts. When PSG makes an offer you listen to it. They are a club that could help me improve."
