Forgotten Magpies man could be on the move

Newcastle misfit Xisco is being strongly linked with a return to Spain and Deportivo La Coruna. The midfielder joined the Magpies for £5.7million in the summer of 2008 but has made little impact at St James' Park. His signing was believed to be among those that led to Kevin Keegan quitting Newcastle in frustration at having players brought in over his head. Since his controversial arrival Xisco has made just 11 appearances for the club and none since two substitute outings back in August 2010. His lack of action on Tyneside led to him being loaned to Racing Santander for the 2009/10 campaign, allowing him to head home.

Medical

A similar switch could now be on the cards, with another loan deal said to be in the pipeline. It is understood that Xisco is on his way to Spain to undergo a medical, allowing the final details of a move to be put in place. Meanwhile, Depor are also closing on another forward-thinking player, Jose Sand. The 30-year-old Argentine has been plying his trade in the United Arab Emirates with Al-Ain but is actively seeking a move to Europe.
