Borussia Dortmund cemented their place at the top of the Bundesliga with a 3-1 win over Wolfsburg.

Dortmund show no signs of slipping up as they stay top

Borussia Dortmund cemented their place at the top of the Bundesliga with a 3-1 win over Wolfsburg. Lucas Barrios continued his impressive form this year with a goal after just two minutes and Nuri Sahin made it two five minutes before the interval. Mats Hummel was the unlikely scorer of the third goal to seal the win and their position at the summit. Bayern Munich moved into third with a 3-1 win over struggling Werder Bremen but still remain a mammoth 14 points behind the leaders. It was goalless first-half but the game exploded into life after the interval. Per Mertesacker put Bremen ahead two minutes into the second half. Bayern then took control in the final half an hour of the game as Arjen Robben levelled after 65 minutes. Mertesacker unfortunately scored an own goal to put the visitors ahead 11 minutes later and it was then left to veteran goalscorer Miroslav Klose who climbed of the bench to settle the game four minutes before time. The defeat leaves Bremen just three points above the drop zone.

Babel

Hoffenheim won their first game in six courtesy of Isaac Vorsah's early goal against Schalke as Ryan Babel failed to get on the score sheet on his debut. In the evening kick-off, Mainz climbed back into the top four with a 1-0 victory over Kaiserslautern courtesy of Lewis Holtby's first-half goal. Nuremburg moved up to 10th as they overcame Hamburg, who dropped down to seventh. Both goals came in the second half as Timmy Simons put them ahead from the spot a minute shy of the hour mark. Almog Cohen netted after 71 minutes to confirm the win. Elsewhere, in the battle of the strugglers FC St Pauli waltzed past relegation-threatened FC Koln 3-0 courtesy of a Charles Takyi brace. He was on hand on the half hour to edge his side in front and doubled their advantage six minutes later. Substitute Florian Bruns settle the game with a penalty to seal the points.
